He underwent liver transplant surgery March 15 in Toronto.  He was expected to go home for about a week but was told that he would be released early.

His wife, Bonnie, was surprised too.

Mike was walking a bit which is a good sign and he was also eating which is also a good sign.  He was also telling joking about his situation too.

MacDonald moved to Los Angeles two years ago.  He has battled drug addiction and bipolar disorder.

At the time of the surgery it was uncertain when or if Mike would return to his comedy career.  We know he’ll be back though, right?  He’s strong.

Special request to you....yeah you.... Mike MacDonald fans.
I could only find two video clips on the net that had some of Mike MacDonald's comedy.
If you have links to more videos please tell me.
I have seen him on television a lot and may just put clips on the page that way.
Mike is a genius and one of my favourites. I want everyone to see how brilliant he is.
I hate commercialism that prevents people from enjoying great talent. Someone has to work stuff out so we all can enjoy all kinds of media however we want and work out a way to pay the creators of the media without becoming a mall. We shouldn't have to worry about all this.
If I pay $50 for internet service or even if I pay less I think that part of the money should go to clearing all the rights for me to see and hear what I want.
I can't think any more so I'll try to return to this topic later.
Oh yeah ..... click on an ad every chance you get. It won't cost you anything. Just see the ad and if you want to buy the product or use the service that's up to you.
I thank you in advance. I will be able to continue working on improvements to my site.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Zane.

As the son of a career Canadian Air Force officer, MacDonald learned at an early age that humor would make him popular. Early life
He was born in Metz, France and spent the first 15 years of his life on military bases throughout France, West Germany and Canada. His family settled in Ottawa when his father retired from the military, which is where MacDonald attended high school.

Standup career
MacDonald has had many successful and well received live performances all over North America. In addition, he has appeared on numerous TV shows including Late Night With David Letterman, The Arsenio Hall Show, Just For Laughs, Showtime's Comedy Club All-Star Show, A&E's An Evening At The Improv, and Comedy Central's The A List. His popularity continues to soar in both the United States and Canada. He has hosted both the Gemini Awards and the Just For Laughs 10th Anniversary Special for the CBC. He also holds the distinction of being the only comedian to perform at each and every Just For Laughs gala show.

 Mike MacDonald
He has starred in three well received specials for the CBC in Canada and for Showtime in the U.S. His first special, "Mike MacDonald; On Target" was the very first one hour prime time special by a stand-up comic in the history of the CBC. This success led to his next special, "My House! My Rules!" This special won its prime time slot when it aired in Canada. It also was nominated for two Gemini Awards. The Showtime version of "My House! My Rules!" was nominated for two Ace Awards, "Best Comedy Special" and "Best Writing in a Comedy Special". His third Showtime special, called “Happy As I Can Be”, was originally slated as a half-hour show. When executives saw the footage, they immediately expanded it to an hour.
Mike MacDonald
“Happy As I Can Be” in its one hour format also achieved a number 1 rating when it aired in prime time in Canada on the CBC.

I was looking for video clips of Mike MacDonald but I could only find one.
I will keep looking.
He's on television every so often and he is a regular at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.
He is brilliant and I want to prove it to you. If anyone have video clips or a site I can point to please send me the info.
I remember some of his most brilliant stuff:
In one bit Mike talked about being out late with friends and missing his curfew.....now he's "more late". He does finally get home and has his friend turn the engine off so noone in the house hears. His friend agrees. Mike gets to the door and makes sure his friends push the car far from the home before turning the engine on.
His friend nods in agreement.
Mike goes to opens the door. Just as he does that his friend guns the engine and goes through all the gears getting to the end of the street.
You must see how he tells it and keep a change of pants ready or sit on towels.
I would compare Mike's comedy to Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart, and even Eddie Murphy, without the swearing.
Check him out.
