Not Funny But Important To Know

Dr Kupets (Sunnybrook Hospital) (This was the doctor in charge of my mother when she went to Sunnybrook Hospital to avoid full-blown cancer)

At first my mother's cancer was under control but when it was time for Dr. Kupets to go on maternity leave Dr. Kupets suddenly said my mother's cancer was getting worse.  Dr. Kupets said chemotherapy was the only option.  About 4 weeks later my mother was dead.  (I may have the timing off a bit but my mother died soon after starting chemotherapy).  My mother would be seen by substitute doctors who just wished us luck and sent us home.  I guess we had bad luck.  It's a game to them because it's not their family.  I haven't heard of a doctor who accepts chemotherapy for their cancer.  My mother had water in her lungs that could have been drained.  The doctors at Sunnybrook didn't feel the need to check my mother's lungs.  Dr. Lilian Gien said "You're mother doesn't look like she's suffering.  Not being able to breathe properly is normal with cancer.  Just tell your mother to go home and rest."

Tell me your stories after you read the following reviews of Dr. Kupets.  If you go to ratemd you can see Dr. Lilian Gien's review.  Any good review is probably a friend of the doctor trying to fool us.  You can see the details in the bad reviews.  The good review or two are robot like.  The good review might say "The best doctor I've ever met." or "An excellent doctor."

Maybe the good reviews were written on the patients deathbed because if you're dying you don't care.

See what you think.  Thanks for allowing me to share my feelings.

9/2/102311 My mother was under her
observation and she did not give her the right
advise. Being as a doctor she didn't justise with
                              her job.

2/5/101111 she does not have any sympathy
for her patients. We were asking her for earlier
appointment for our mom with final stage of cancer
and she was telling us that she does not have any
availability because she is going on vacation.
Honestly, we could have done without knowing that
her vacation is more important for her than our
                              mom's life.

                                   8/31/093344 Excellent surgeon, but sorely
lacking in compassion. I was given bad news during
my surgical follow-up. I asked for a copy of the
report she had in her hand. I was crying. She
wouldn't give it to me and insisted I go to
records to get a copy. One thing I'll say about
Sunnybrook - if they could charge a fee for saying
"hello", they would. I'm since being treated by
another hospital, and the sensitivity of the
doctor and staff is so much better than Dr.
Kupets. I can't believe being made to walk through
a hospital to get a ocpy of a report the doctor
had in her hand, while crying, while being upset,
and while recovering from surgery. Unbelievable...

6/1/094223 I was sent to Dr. Kupets for a
second opinion on the 8.5 cm cyst on my ovary. She
didn't look at other ultra sound results, she only
would look at one done be Sunnybrook! then I was
suppose to see her after the ultrasound,, she
cancelled. Come back in 2 weeks, the ultrasound
specialists said I needed a MRI, it took another 2
weeks before the Dr. agreed to the MRI which would
be in a few weeks, 1 month later the MRI was
booked for. I tried to get my requestion and get
it done elsewhere, again NO! only a Sunnybrook.I
was suppose to go back in 2 weeks to see her,
cancelled again, not in, then will be in later,
then went home early?? will call me the next day,
cancelled...went in the next day to see and she
says "did you come in yesterday??" incredible. I
live in Ajax and the only good thing about this
doctor is her nurse, Neda, she was awesome! This
started in Jan/09, now after Kupets saying I don't
need anything?I am having they cyst removed and a
                              hysterectomy done.

no complications. One of the best Dr's around!!
                              Very informative and caring.

9/3/084445 I am very satisfied with the care
I am receiving from Dr. Kupets. When I expressed
concern about an issue over the phone to her
nurse, an appointment was set up right away and
time was given to express my concerns to the
Doctor. I felt that she answered my questions to
my satisfaction. I feel that the operation was
successful and that the ongoing care is good. My
only concern is that I don't always get to meet
with Dr. Kupets when appointments are made; it is
often the hospital residents who are not as
knowledgeable and have tended to be patronizing in
their responses to my questions. Today, my
scheduled appointment was to see Dr. Kupets who, I
feel, would have answered my questions. The
resident who was taking her place said "You are
just curious" when I asked for the results of a
blood test. Can you imagine a teacher saying that
to a parent who might ask for the results of a
test that her child took??? Some of these
residents need to develop better patient
                              relationships.

3/9/082113 My Mother is not well; a radical
hysterectomy for a cantaloupe size benign tumour I
believe was rushed in only 1-1.5 hour. In the
process of the operation, a hole was punctured in
the large intestine which caused septic shock and
near death. Dr. Andrew Smith an excellent bowel
surgeon saved her. Now she has a colostomy bag.
Three months later she has had a stroke and is
only 51 and again is in trouble which I believe
could have been prevented. In the three months at
Sunnybrook I saw Dr. Kupets three times and
appeared to be detached from her work. My mother
was right; we should have found the time to
investigate surgeons before entering this huge
ordeal. What was supposed to be an 8 week recovery
has now turned into the fight of our lives. I hope
                              my mother lives.

and she did an excellent job. she is apparently
one of the top laproscopic surgeons in Toronto and
she is young. her bedside manner was just fine. I

6/26/07344 She was very helpful and asked if
I had questions and took the time to explain and
show me the procedure by drawing diagrams of what
was to be done. This was great because I was only
24 years old when I diagnosed with cervical cancer
and very frightened. Her knowledge was unsurpassed
considering the doctors I had seen before were
limited in their answers I had regarding research
and current clinical trials in the area. I had and
still have had no complaints, she is an amazing
doctor and extremely knowledgable in her area.

Canada's Worst Handyman

Canada's Worst Handyman

Category: Reality Television

Developed By: Proper Television

Star: Andrew Younghusband

Narrated By: Andrew Younghusband

Country of Origin: Canada

Number of Episodes: 7

Executive Producer: Guy O'Sullivan

Producer: Amy Hosking

Original Channel: Discovery Channel Canada

Original Run: March 13, 2006 to Present

Followed By: Canada's Worst Handyman 2

Related Shows: Canada's Worst Driver and Britain's Worst DIYer

This a competition style show where people who consider themselves handymen are put to the test until one person from the group ends up with the title "Canada's Worst Handyman".

The show is funny and you learn stuff too.  I know now that you can't use duct tape instead of cement.  That wasn't on the show either but I did learn some basics.  The show is not boring because the pace is kept quick.  We don't see everything but we are shown the best of the worst stuff.

We see stuff we might have done and then we also see stuff that we don't think we would do.  It's a quality Canadian show with humor sprinkled all about.  The host is very patient and not scared of much.  Watch the show to see what I mean.  You can watch episodes in many ways including buying the dvds.  I get nothing so that's the end of the commercial.

Some of the competitor don't know how to use basic tools like drills, levels, and even instructions.

Before I continue the name of they show must have bothered someone. Canada's Worst Handyman is the title. If a woman wins then she is known as Canada's Worst Handyman. I thought I had a good thought about that but I'm a man and when ever I think I hear the ice cream truck in my head.

I think the show wouldn't work out well if it was Canada's Worst Handyperson. When you need ratings everything must be considered.

There are five contestants but unlike Canada's Worst Driver no one gets eliminated. Every episode one "handyman" is named most improved and another one is name least improved. The least improved gets a heavy duty punishment like doing the thing they suck at all night.

The show takes place at the Handyman Rehabilitation Centre, a building of the Regent Park public housing complex in Toronto, Ontario. Located at the corner of Dundas and Parliament, it was demolished following the filming of the show.

Contestants The five contestants for the first season are as follows:

Darryl Andrews:

a professional bodyguard from Warkworth, Ontario
he isn't confident about handyman work
A running theme for Darryl is that it always looks like he and his wife are going to breakup

Merle Auger:

a truck driver from Sucker Creek, Alberta
uses duct tape to fix everything
he usually doesn't measure or use a level
has many unfinished projects at home

Keith Cole:

a performance artist from Toronto, Ontario
doesn't like doing house repair work
is afraid of power tools
likes to delegate work to others while he avoids work

Barry Davis:

a subsitute teacher from Quadra Island, British Coumbia
doesn't think about safety when he does house repairs
once used a chainsaw indoors and almost electrocuted himself to death while fixing a clothes dryer while standing in a puddle

Jeannie MacCulloch:

a retired lady from Victoria, British Columbia
purchased a house hoping to restore it
can't read or understand instructions

Canada's Worst Handyman Experts

The experts for the first season are as follows:

Dr. Julie Hill, a psychologist who has taught psychology in two Ontario universities. Greg House, a general contractor with international experience, having managed both residential and commercial projects over a long career

Robin Lockhart, an interior designer specializing in high-end residential and commercial design. She is a graduate of the International Academy of Design

I have stuff to come but it will take time to get it on here.

Warning to buttkissers

Do not buttkiss right after your target has had Indian food or Mexican food or anything which might cause runs.

Warning to people who pet strange dogs

Do not pet a dog you don't know; it might be a ground hog or a wolf or ......well that it bad enough.

A man is talking to a group of friends while attending a picnic near a lake. He notices a boy in the water and dives in to save the boy.

When he gets to dry land with the boy the host of the picnic asks him to introduce himself and say a few words.

He stands in front of everyone and says, "My name is Bob and I don't really have much to say but I do have a question. I would just like to know who pushed me into the water."

Zane's Humour

Okay here are some topics and my thoughts.

People who don't signal

I hate people who don't signal. I don't mean the people who's signal doesn't work but those people who refuse to signal.

I especially hate people in expensive cars who don't signal. What the car was so expensive they couldn't afford a signal? I don't think being rich means you can change the laws. Besides if I plow into you because you didn't signal I should get to keep your car after you pay for the repairs.

When rich people play tennis with Chaz, Buffy, and Babbs they don't say let's not play for points; we'll just hit the round thing with this deformed stick so poor people can look at us spending our time and money doing something we know nothing about.

Sorry about the fact that you could use some sort of enlargement. I guess having a gold card makes up for the fact that you need help lifting a marshmallow.

Do you pay people to feed you too? Are you too lazy to chew?

Zane's Humour

People who don't stop at STOP signs

Stop signs are not just suggestions; they are for safety. I was at a local mall.....rhymes with Fairview Mali. I was just sitting in my car and I noticed nobody stopping for the STOP sign. There was plenty of traffic. At least 90 per cent of the people either drove right through or just pressed the brakes momentarily like it was a formality.

Many times the cars coming the other way had to screech to a halt so they wouldn't hit the idiots. The other cars had the right of way because they didn't have a stop sign.

How busy is your life that you can't give 2 seconds to a stop sign. Some people even stopped in the middle of the intersection and offered the other cars the right of way. The other cars couldn't go because the idiots were IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION.

Zane's Humour

People Eating in the Library

Okay before I start don't tell me that you're allowed to eat and drink (non-acoholic) in the library. I'm aware of that.

I think the idea is that you can do your homework and keep a drink next to you and maybe some snacks. I have seen people bring full lunches into the library and eat for two hours and have a heavy discussion. You could eat in a mall food court and do that. The weather is nice. Have your lunch outside.

Okay if you must have lunch and not do your work can you at least not disturb people while you do it? Oh and I remember seeing this group of girls......men do it too......These girls were eating and each one was on their cell phone and having a loud conversation. I think we should be able to phone an annoying sound to people like that. Can you imagine the following:

(person on phone while eating gets a call--call waiting)

"Hey Chaz give me a second by call waiting is happening" "Hello?........." the following could be the sound "waaaaaaaaahhhhh" (I suppose a baby crying would do)

Okay more on the morons later.

Zane's Humour

My haircut. Now that's funny.

Remind me never to oil the fan while it's on.

Oh yeah and never spit against the wind.

Don't pee outdoors when it's minus 40 (celcius).

Don't tell any big football player that you are dating his girlfriend.

Don't tease a small person until you're sure they don't have a weapon or a friend that fights with cars and wins.

Okay I need to rest but ask me for more....send $100 dollars to Zane the hack joke writer, hackville, .......oh crap I've got brain freeze. Will someone open the freezer so I can get out.

It's hard to type with frozen fingers.

Come back often.

Zane's Humour

Let me think of more stuff.

Give me topics you want me to try.

I don't have a stage act. Share these jokes with friends but don't use them to make money..........

You can add your comments to my comments. That would be great.

I might want to use some of this material professionally later so enjoy it but don't steal it.

Yeah you're chuckling. Steal what. I may write something funny one day and one person might laugh so there.

I hate to even say these things but who knows.

Hug?.......

You're Funny

You're Funny

You're funny. This is where you prove it.  Send me funny pictures, videos, and stories.  Give me details with the picture, video, and stories.  This tells me it is your stuff.  I do want to see funny stuff from other sources.  Give me details there too so I can give the source credit.

Give me give me give me!

Send me your video, written humour, stories, pictures, or anything you think counts as comedy and would be good for this site.

This blog is your blog.....so pay the rent.....I'll wait....... If I get enough feedback on a topic or idea.....etc... I will put serious thought into it and possibly make changes. Have fun.

In the words of Roseanne Rosannada....."Never mind...."---that's Saturday Night Live----Gilda Radner

Are you laughing? No. Okay I'll take a pie to the face....not a mud pie.

..........I'll wait for you to go and make the pie..........

Aw just come back with the pie when you're done.
